Thierry Henry edges out Didier Drogba in a fantasy footy lineup, according to that muppet Troy Deeney.
Henry or Drogba?
Deeney reckons most blokes would pick Henry over Drogba cuz he could play anywhere up front. Fair enough, Henry had some tekkers and banged in the goals for fun at Arsenal. But Drogba was an absolute unit, causing defenders all sorts of grief with his strength and power. For me, Drogba revolutionized the role of the lone striker in the beautiful game.
How Drogba changed footy tactics
Back in the day, most teams played a boring 4-4-2 formation with two strikers. But when Drogba signed for Chelsea in 2004, that wanker Mourinho played him up top on his own. Instead of having a strike partner to play off, Drogba used his physicality to link up with the midfield and wingers. This made the 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 formations all the rage.
Drogba became the complete forward, banging in goals and being a general menace. He won Chelsea loads of silverware and banged in over 100 Premier League goals. Not too shabby for a big lump!
So while Henry might be the more talented player, I reckon Drogba had a bigger impact on the modern game. But what do I know, I'm just a hooligan who loves a good tear-up at the footy!
Is Henry the GOAT?
With a scoring rate of a goal every 0.68 games, it's no wonder Henry is lauded as one of the Prem's all-time greats. He also notched 74 assists, taking him to 249 goal contributions in the league for Arsenal.
That little shite Michael Owen even reckons Henry is the greatest Premier League player ever. Owen won the Golden Boot at 17 and 18, but said when Henry came on the scene he thought "I'm never going to win one of those again".
So there ya have it. Henry and Drogba - two of the biggest bellends to grace the Premier League. But for me, Drogba changed the game while Henry was just a class act. Either way, I'd have both in my fantasy team ahead of that donkey Deeney any day of the week!
