Vinicius Junior's salary could be about to skyrocket, and it's about bloody time!

The tension between Xabi Alonso and Vinicius Junior

It's no secret that there's been some beef between Vinicius and Xabi Alonso. The Brazilian superstar feels like he's not getting a fair crack at showcasing his talent, and who can blame him? He's been subbed off in the 72nd minute during El Clasico, and he's not happy with his role or minutes. Alonso can deny it all he wants, but there's definitely some bad blood there.

Saudi Arabia's interest in Vinicius Junior

Saudi Pro League sides are waiting in the wings to take advantage of the situation, and they're prepared to offer Vinicius a five-year contract with wages of £220million. That's a £30m increase on Cristiano Ronaldo's salary at Al-Nassr, and across the five years of the deal, it would net Vinicius a staggering €1b (£880m). Not too shabby, eh?

Why Saudi Arabia's interest in Vinicius Junior is no surprise

Saudi clubs have been interested in Vinicius for a while now, and it's no surprise why. The Madrid superstar finished second in the 2024 Ballon d'Or rankings, and he's won LaLiga three times and the Champions League twice. If Madrid are tempted to cash in following the 2026 World Cup, Saudi Arabia could be the perfect destination for Vinicius.

The beautiful game is all about the money these days, and Vinicius deserves to get his fair share. If he does end up moving to Al-Ahli, he could soon call former Brentford striker Ivan Toney and ex-Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez as teammates. Not a bad bunch of lads to play with, if you ask me.
