Former Manchester United wanker Antony managed to avoid getting sent off during Real Betis' Europa League match against Utrecht, despite appearing to headbutt an opponent.

The Brazilian got into a bit of a tussle with Souffian El Karouani, Utrecht's left-back, and it looked like he headbutted the other player as he was trying to chase a loose ball.

Antony gets away with one

Real Betis were drawing 0-0 with Utrecht when Antony decided to throw his head into El Karouani's face instead of just shoving him off like a normal footballer would. El Karouani collapsed to the floor, but the ref didn't do anything about it initially.

Even VAR had a look but they didn't think it was worthy of a red card, which is a load of bollocks if you ask me. The Utrecht players were stunned, and rightly so.

To make matters worse, Antony went on to set up Betis' opening goal, which just rubs salt into the wound. Chucho Hernandez scored the goal, but Utrecht would argue that Antony shouldn't have even been on the pitch to create the chance in the first place.

If Antony had been sent off, it would have been the second time in just a few days. The winger was given a red card during the 1-1 draw against Girona in stoppage time, although that one was a bit harsh as he was trying to do an overhead kick and accidentally connected with a Girona player's face.

He got a three-game domestic ban for that, and probably should have gotten the same punishment in Europe for this headbutt, but he's somehow managed to get away with it. Maybe the universe is trying to balance out the harsh sending off at the weekend, who knows.

Real Betis ended up winning the game 2-1, with Abde Ezzalzouli making it 2-0 before Miguel Rodriguez pulled one back for Utrecht. But the fact that Antony was allowed to stay on the pitch is a joke and it's no wonder Utrecht are pissed off about it.
