The FA Cup third round is usually a highlight of the English football calendar but the bloody weather is causing havoc with the schedule, and it's pissing me off!
The glamour stage of the competition got underway on Thursday, with Everton's win over Peterborough avoiding postponement. But let's be real, the Toffees only won because they have better facilities than most other clubs.
All-League One tie between Mansfield and Wigan postponed
An all-League One tie between Mansfield and Wigan was due to take place on Saturday's evening slot of games but has been postponed because of the frozen pitches. What a load of bollocks! These lower division clubs need to sort their shite out.
Their domestic rivals Charlton were also due to take a trip to battle Championship side Preston at 3pm but likewise won't play. Again, more disappointment for us real football fans who actually give a damn about the beautiful game.
Both fixtures have been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday, 14 January, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm. But who knows if the weather will hold up by then. This whole situation is a joke!
The cold weather is ruining everything
Temperatures across England could drop well below freezing bringing with it snow and ice. As if we needed another reason to be miserable.
Several lower-division clubs will be anxiously awaiting news of potential cancellations of their upcoming clashes. It's a bloody disgrace! These clubs need to get their act together and make sure their pitches are playable no matter the weather.
The FA Cup is supposed to be a time of excitement and drama, but instead we're stuck dealing with this rubbish. It's enough to drive any true football fan mad. But hey, at least we have the Premier League to look forward to, right? As if those overpaid prima donnas could ever put on a show like the FA Cup. What a load of bellends!
