City chattin' with Semenyo, stickin' it to the Prem mugs!

Manchester City have been chatting with Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, according to some bloody rumour mill.

City in the mix for Semenyo signature

Looks like City are just one of the big boys in the Premier League who fancy triggering Semenyo's release clause, which is somewhere between £60million and £65m. Blimey, that's a hefty price tag for a bloke who kicks a ball around for a living.

Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham are also sniffing around, trying to get their grubby mitts on the Ghana international. It's like a bloody feeding frenzy out there.

Arsenal might be up for it too if they can be arsed to offload one of their own wingers next month. But knowing them, they'll probably just sit on their arses and expect a quiet transfer window. Typical Gooners.

City's gaffer, Pep Guardiola, is currently up shit creek without a paddle, with wingers Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb, and Omar Marmoush all out of action. Doku and Bobb are nursing injuries, while Marmoush is off playing with his Egyptian mates at AFCON.

Semenyo's scoring streak

Semenyo's been banging in the goals left, right, and centre this season, with seven in 15 games. Not too shabby for a lad from Bournemouth. He even signed a new five-year deal with the Cherries earlier this year, so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

But that hasn't stopped the endless speculation about his future. Bournemouth's boss, Andoni Iraola, must be sick to the back teeth of answering questions about it. In November, he had to come out and say, "Antoine is our player, he will continue being our player." Can't blame him for getting a bit miffed about the whole thing.

The verdict

Looks like the Semenyo situation is going to be a right old soap opera in January. We know he's got a release clause that becomes active in the transfer window, and there's a cut-off point halfway through the month for clubs to activate it.

Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham are all in the mix, but Spurs are probably the outsiders at this point. Who knows, maybe City will swoop in and steal him from under their noses. It's all a bit of a mug's game, if you ask me.
