Jack Grealish is moving to Everton, and he's chosen to wear the No. 18 shirt, just like his heroes Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne did before him. What a load of bollocks!
Grealish's idols are overrated
First off, let's get one thing straight: Rooney and Gascoigne are decent players, but they ain't no legends. They're not even close to being the best England players of the last 20, 30 years. Grealish needs to get his head out of his arse and stop idolizing these muppets.
Grealish is no Gazza
Grealish has been compared to Gascoigne for his playstyle and antics off the pitch, but that's just taking the piss. Gazza was a proper lad, a true entertainer on the pitch. Grealish ain't got half the talent or charisma that Gazza had. He's just a poor man's version of the real deal.
The No. 18 shirt means nothing
Grealish thinks he's special because he's wearing the same number as Rooney and Gascoigne did at Everton. Big bloody deal! The number on the back of your shirt doesn't mean jack shit. It's what you do on the pitch that matters, and so far, Grealish has done fuck all.
Grealish needs to prove himself
If Grealish wants to be compared to the likes of Rooney and Gascoigne, he needs to step up his game. He's been a massive disappointment at Man City, and now he's got a chance to redeem himself at Everton. But if he thinks wearing the No. 18 shirt is going to make a difference, he's got another thing coming.
