What a load of bollocks! Hull gaffer Sergej Jakirovic has accused Birmingham boss Chris Davies of tellin' him to "F off" and a security guard tellin' him to "Go back to Croatia".
Birmingham deny the claims
Of course they fackin' do! After losin' 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on Saturday afternoon, they're gonna deny it. Both teams could face punishment from the FA for a mass brawl in their Championship clash. With the score 1-1 before half-time, Kyle Joseph caught Patrick Roberts with a challenge near the dugouts, and then all hell broke loose!
The drama unfolds
Birmingham boss Davies was fumin' and clashed with Hull assistant Marko Salatovic on the touchline at St. Andrew's. Both sets of players came to blows on the pitch as the tension brimmed, with security needin' to get involved and disperse them. Referee Ruebyn Ricardo issued four yellow cards to players and staff on each side before play in the 3-2 Hull win was resumed.
FA sanctions
Both clubs could be sanctioned by the FA for involvement in a 'mass confrontation'. Birmingham and Hull may face charges of misconduct, 'failing to ensure players conduct themselves in an orderly fashion etc'. After the full-time whistle, Jakirovic, who received a yellow, has declared he refused to shake hands with Davies, statin' that his counterpart swore at him.
Jakirovic's bombshell
Jakirovic said: "I asked Chris why he came in my technical area and he said 'F you' and some security guard said, 'Go back to Croatia'. I am very happy with this. I am hard born, I am not afraid of anyone. I am doin' my job in this country and I respect this country, I will never say somethin' like this."
Birmingham's response
Birmingham have since responded followin' accusations made by Jakirovic, where they refuted the claims. A statement read: "Birmingham City are aware of a serious allegation made by Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic towards a member of the security team at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. Havin' conducted an internal investigation, the club refute, in the strongest possible terms, Mr Jakirovic's claims."
The aftermath
Birmingham were beaten for the fourth time in ten matches and sit 17th in the Championship, just five points above the bottom three. Meanwhile, Hull have risen to tenth and just a point outside the play-off spots. Although their 18 goals conceded is the second-worst in the division, they are the second-highest scorers on 17. Only Coventry City, who sit top of the Championship unbeaten, have scored more with 29 goals.
