Troy Deeney, that mouthy bellend, is still bangin' on about how Nigeria's skipper, William Troost-Ekong, ain't got no nasty streak in him. What a load of bollocks!
Deeney's initial criticism of Troost-Ekong
These two muppets used to play together at Watford, but now they're having a right old barney in public. It all kicked off when Deeney said Troost-Ekong wasn't the kind of bloke to strong-arm the Nigerian Football Federation over some unpaid bonuses. The players went on strike and their pre-match prep for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Gabon went down the shitter.
Troost-Ekong hits back
But then, Troost-Ekong came out and said he was "slightly disappointed" with Deeney's comments, and that he should've just picked up the phone and called him instead of slagging him off in public. He even had a dig at Deeney, saying he should take down the Nigeria shirt Troost-Ekong gave him that's hanging on his wall somewhere.
Deeney, being the ignorant twat he is, didn't give a toss about Troost-Ekong's feelings and doubled down on his comments. He said Troost-Ekong was a "good kid" but reckoned he didn't have the nasty streak needed to get what he wanted from the federation.

Then, Deeney looked down the camera and gave Troost-Ekong a message directly. He said, "Will, I do know you. If I was remotely being disrespectful, I'd deal with it the right way because you know me." He also had a pop at Troost-Ekong for mentioning how many caps he's had, saying, "if you have to tell people how many caps you've had, you're not really that secure yourself."
In the end, Deeney told Troost-Ekong to "chill" and focus on footy instead of getting involved in media bollocks. What a pair of absolute mugs! This is why footy is the beautiful game, lads. It's not just about what happens on the pitch, it's also about all the banter and bullshit off it!
