David Moyes is back at Everton, and I've got to say, I'm not bloody impressed. The Toffees have gone and reappointed this muppet after sacking Sean Dyche. What a load of bollocks!
Moyes returns to Goodison Park
The 61-year-old has signed a two-year deal, 22 years after he first joined the club. He left West Ham at the end of last season, and now he's back at his old stomping ground. I bet he's thinking he's the dogs bollocks, but I'm not convinced.
Moyes' first spell at Everton
Moyes was initially brought in back in March 2002, with the club sitting in 16th place, just like they are now. They went on to enjoy their most successful period in the Premier League under him, finishing in the top eight nine times out of the next 11 seasons. But let's be real, that was then, and this is now. The beautiful game has changed, and I'm not sure Moyes has what it takes to keep Everton from avoiding their first-ever Premier League relegation.
Moyes' track record
Sure, Moyes has plenty of experience battling relegation, having saved Everton and West Ham twice from the drop into the Championship. But that doesn't mean he's the right man for the job now. Everton fans will be hoping for an immediate new manager bounce, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The club has been absolute shite lately, picking up just two points from their last five games and losing their last two against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
My take on the situation
I'm not going to sugarcoat it, I think this is a terrible decision by Everton. Moyes may have done well in the past, but the game has moved on, and I'm not convinced he's the right man to take the club forward. The Toffees are in a relegation battle, and they need someone who can come in and make an immediate impact. I'm not sure Moyes is that man. But hey, what do I know? I'm just a footy fanatic who's angry and frustrated with everything. I just hope for the sake of the Everton fans that Moyes proves me wrong and keeps the club in the Premier League.
