Ange Postecoglou was in stitches after a bunch of Tamworth muppets gave him a right earful.
The Tottenham gaffer got a proper frosty reception at The Lamb Stadium for the FA Cup third round clash, which his lads won 3-0 after extra time. Just about scraped through, didn't they?
Postecoglou lapping up the stick
Despite it being a right old sweat-fest for over 100 minutes, the Aussie bloke took it all on the chin. Fair play to him, I suppose.
Videos doing the rounds showed Postecoglou stood there, arms folded, while the fans were giving him proper abuse. "W******, w******," they yelled.
But the Spurs boss just smirked back at 'em, then started laughing his head off. Even the Tamworth lot applauded him for that. He even egged 'em on for more! Cheeky sod.
A nervy win for Spurs
He might've looked calm as you like, but Postecoglou must've been bricking it inside. Taking a National League side to extra time? Embarrassing.
Luckily for him, goals from that lot - Solanke, Kulusevski and Johnson - got Spurs through to the next round. Just imagine if they hadn't...
Postecoglou didn't want to compare this performance to their win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup. Convenient, that.
"I don't think it's a swing in level of performance. It's just a game of football," he said. Yeah, a game of football where you almost got knocked out by a bunch of part-timers!
Fair play to Tamworth
To be fair to him, though, he did give Tamworth some credit. "They made it hard for us. They should be really proud of their efforts and I'm sure everyone in the ground had a good day. For us, we move on," he said.
Tamworth can hold their heads high, no doubt about that. They gave Spurs a proper scare. But at the end of the day, it's Tottenham who are through to the fourth round. Just. And that's all that matters in the beautiful game, innit?
