Jason Cundy, that absolute muppet, had the audacity to criticise Arsenal's tribute to their striker, Gabriel Jesus, before their victory over Tottenham. What a bellend!

Arsenal's north London derby triumph

Mikel Arteta's side closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool with a 2-1 win over their north London rivals at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners showed their support for Jesus, who is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury, by wearing shirts with his name and squad number, along with the message: "Stay strong Gabby."

Cundy's cringeworthy comments

Cundy, a former Chelsea player, felt the gesture was unnecessary and cringeworthy. He compared it to West Ham players not wearing shirts for Michail Antonio after his serious car crash in December, which resulted in more severe injuries.

"It felt a little bit cringey to me," Cundy said on The Sports Bar. Well, mate, I think you're the one being a cringe fest here. What's wrong with showing support for a teammate going through a tough time? It's called team spirit, you muppet!

Arsenal's response to the criticism

Arsenal doubled down on the Jesus gesture post-match, with manager Mikel Arteta dedicating the win to the former Manchester City star. "He has a very special character," Arteta said. "We wanted to win for him and hopefully he appreciated that."

Midfielder Declan Rice also showed support for his teammate, saying, "You see the shirts we wore for him tonight. He'll be back soon to support us."

My take on the situation

I think Cundy needs to get a grip and stop taking liberties with his cringeworthy comments. Arsenal's gesture was a show of support for a teammate going through a tough time. It's called being a good teammate and having each other's backs on and off the pitch. Something Cundy clearly knows nothing about.

The beautiful game is about more than just what happens on the pitch. It's about the bonds formed between teammates, the camaraderie, and the support they show each other through the highs and lows. Arsenal's gesture was a perfect example of that, and Cundy's comments are just a load of bollocks.
