Lisandro Martinez has hit back at Paul Scholes after the Manchester United legend claimed the Argentine defender isn't good enough to win the Premier League. Martinez, who is out for the season with an ACL injury, took to social media to slam Scholes, saying he wouldn't survive in Argentine football.
What a load of bollocks from Scholes
Typical United blert, thinks he knows it all. Scholes reckons Martinez, De Ligt and Yoro aren't good enough to win the league. What a mug. These lads are quality players, they'd run rings around Scholes in his pomp.
Martinez is the real deal
The Argentine hardman has been a rock at the back for United since joining from Ajax. He's a proper defender, puts his body on the line and isn't afraid to get stuck in. Scholes is chatting shit if he thinks Martinez isn't good enough.
De Ligt and Yoro are class acts too
De Ligt may have had a slow start to his United career, but he's a top class centre-half. Won titles in Holland and Germany, and he's still only 24. Yoro is a young lad with a bright future ahead of him. Scholes needs to wind his neck in and give these lads a chance.
United are still in the mix
Alright, they've had a dodgy start to the season, but United are still in the FA Cup and Europa League. They've got the squad to compete on all fronts. Scholes should get behind the team instead of slagging off the players.
Scholes couldn't hack it in Argentina
Martinez is bang on the money. Scholes wouldn't last five minutes in the rough and tumble of Argentine football. He'd get eaten alive by the proper hard bastards down there. Martinez has played in the Argentine top flight, he knows what it takes to succeed in a tough league.
In conclusion
Scholes needs to shut his gob and let the lads get on with it. Martinez, De Ligt and Yoro are all top players who can help United win trophies this season. The Red Devils are still in the hunt for silverware, despite what that muppet Scholes reckons. He should wind his neck in and get behind the team, instead of chatting shite about the players.
