Robin van Persie, that bellend, is reportedly making a comeback to his boyhood club Feyenoord. And guess what? The muppet might just end up facing Arsenal in the Champions League. Ain't that just peachy?

The journey of a footy lad

After hanging up his boots in 2019, the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker decided to get into coaching. He started off by being a little helper to Dick Advocaat at Feyenoord. Then, he got promoted to co-head coach of the U16s, and later the U18s and U19s. In May 2024, he left to become head coach of Heerenveen. Now, the bloke is in talks to return to Feyenoord.

Feyenoord wants their golden boy back

Feyenoord is keen on getting Van Persie back, and they want him to replace Brian Priske, who got the boot last week. The Dutch club has agreed on personal terms with Van Persie, but they still need to sort things out with Heerenveen. While Van Persie is all for returning to his former club, he's not going to force a move. If he does make the switch, he reportedly wants to bring his trusted coaching staff along, including his mate Brian Pinas.

A potential clash with Arsenal

If Van Persie does go back to Feyenoord, he could potentially face Arsenal in the Champions League last-16. This would be a match that stirs up all sorts of feelings, especially considering how he left Arsenal in 2012. After spending eight years with the Gunners, where he was club captain and scored 132 goals in 278 appearances, Van Persie decided he wanted to win major trophies and jumped ship to Manchester United. This left a lot of Arsenal fans feeling betrayed.

Van Persie's glory days at Manchester United

Despite the backlash, Van Persie's move to Manchester United proved successful. He helped them win the Premier League title in his first season and also won the Golden Boot award for being the league's top scorer. However, his time at Old Trafford was short-lived, as he was sold to Fenerbahce in 2015.

So, there you have it. Van Persie might be going back to Feyenoord, and Arsenal might just have to face him in the Champions League. Ain't football just the beautiful game?
