Rangers legend Ally McCoist has slammed the club for being 'weak' both on and off the pitch in a scathing assessment.
Clueless muppets in charge
McCoist knows that Rangers can't afford to balls up their next managerial appointment, even though there aren't any standout candidates at the moment. The club is in disarray and whoever takes over has a mammoth task ahead of them to sort out this mess.
Gerrard, Muscat or McInnes?
Steven Gerrard, who won Rangers' last league title, is available after leaving Saudi side Al-Ettifaq. But McCoist also name-dropped Kevin Muscat, dubbed 'the most hated man in football', and current Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes as potential options. Let's face it though, none of them are going to set the world alight.
Rangers a million miles behind Celtic
McCoist pulled no punches, saying: "Rangers are a good way behind Celtic on and off the pitch. The gulf between the two clubs is massive. Any new manager needs to grab the club by the scruff of the neck and give it a right good shake."
He added: "The Rangers team on the pitch is weak. It's a team you'd love to play against because there's a weakness about it, and sadly there's a weakness off the pitch too."
Europa League distraction
Despite being knocked out of both domestic cups and falling way behind in the league, Rangers are still in the Europa League. The new gaffer will have to get off to a flyer with tough games against Fenerbahce and that wanker Mourinho coming up. Good luck with that, mate.
