Bayern to snub Kane's matey request - footy transfer banter!

Ol' 'Arry Kane would love for Eric Dier to stay at Bayern Munich past the summer, but it ain't looking likely, is it?

Dier's time at Bayern

The 31-year-old defender initially joined the Bundesliga leaders on loan from Tottenham in January 2024 before the move became permanent. But he's only made a measly eight starts across all competitions this season. What a joke!

Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae have been the preferred options to play at centre-back under Vincent Kompany. Dier's just warming the bench like a proper mug.

Kane's thoughts on Dier

Speaking last month, Kane revealed his desire for Dier to stay, saying: "Eric's been great, he's been waiting patiently. Obviously [Upamecano] and Min-jae have been fantastic this season, so Eric's just had to bide his time."

"He's come in the last couple of games and done really, really well, and got two clean sheets so yeah, of course I'd love Eric to stay. I guess that's between him and the club."

"Me and Eric are really good mates and it's good to see him on the pitch," Kane also said. "He's not played a lot this season but whenever he's come in he's done really well."

Dier's uncertain future

Unfortunately for Kane, his wish appears unlikely to come true as Sky Sport Germany have reported that Dier's Bayern future is uncertain. The defender wants to stay, but the club haven't yet agreed to extending his contract and it currently looks as though he will leave. What a load of bollocks!

Kane and Dier have made 390 appearances together for six different sides during their careers. The duo played alongside each other at Tottenham on 309 occasions, whilst they have shared the pitch for England 37 times. A total of 30 joint appearances have come at Bayern, and this season could well be their last together.

Potential silverware

However, it could end with silverware as Bayern are eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and in the Champions League last 16. But who gives a toss about that when Dier might be leaving?!
