Those muppets at Shrewsbury Town have only gone and appointed Michael Appleton as their head coach until the end of the season. What a load of bollocks!
Appleton's Arrival
After that bellend Gareth Ainsworth buggered off to League Two side Gillingham, Shrewsbury were left in the lurch. Now they've got Appleton, who's been on the scrapheap since he got the boot from Charlton at the start of 2024. What a joke!
A Daunting Task
Appleton's got his work cut out for him, I'll tell you that for free. Shrewsbury are rock bottom of League One, 14 points from safety. They've got about as much chance of staying up as I have of winning the lottery. And I don't even buy a ticket!
A Checkered Past
This isn't Appleton's first rodeo. He's been in charge of Blackpool, Portsmouth and Oxford United before. But let's be honest, he's never set the world alight. He even managed Leicester for two games back in 2017, but that was just a flash in the pan.
False Dawn
Shrewsbury thought they were onto a winner with Ainsworth. They were so excited about the future that they offered him a two-year contract extension. But then he went and stabbed them in the back by leaving for Gillingham. What a mug!
No Hope
Now Shrewsbury are stuck with Appleton. They start his tenure with a trip to Birmingham on Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if they get absolutely battered. This season has been a disaster from start to finish. They're going down faster than a sack of spuds!
In conclusion, Shrewsbury are well and truly up shit creek without a paddle. Appointing Appleton is like putting a bandaid on a gaping wound. They're doomed, and everyone knows it. What a shambles of a club!
