Ryan Gravenberch's agent has been chatting shite about the player wanting to join Real Madrid. What a load of bollocks!
This mug of an agent, Jose Fortes Rodriguez, has been spouting off to the Spanish press, saying that Gravenberch would love to wear the white of Real Madrid one day. Well, I've got news for you, mate - he's a Liverpool player now, and he'd better bloody well focus on that!
Liverpool's midfield maestro
Gravenberch has been a revelation this season under Arne Slot. The lad's been pulling the strings in midfield, bossing games and helping the Reds to the top of the Premier League table. He's a class act, no doubt about it.
But his agent seems to have other ideas. "We would love him to join Real Madrid," Rodriguez told Marca. "He's good enough for Real Madrid. We would love for him to play for them."
Well, tough shit, mate. Gravenberch is a Liverpool player, and he's going nowhere. The Reds paid good money for him - around £34.2 million - and they're not going to let him go without a fight.
Rodriguez even had the cheek to say that Liverpool would ask for a lot of money if Real Madrid came calling. No shit, Sherlock! Of course, they would - he's a top player, and Liverpool aren't in the habit of letting their best players go on the cheap.
Real Madrid's transfer targets
It's not just Gravenberch who's been linked with a move to the Bernabeu. Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer, while Ibrahima Konate is also reportedly on their radar.
And let's not forget about Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, whose contract negotiations with Liverpool remain unresolved. It's a worrying time for Reds fans, with so many key players being linked with moves away from Anfield.
But Liverpool can't afford to let their heads drop. They've got a title to win, and they need all their best players to be fully focused on the job at hand.
Gravenberch's agent backtracks
In a pathetic attempt to backtrack on his comments, Rodriguez has since claimed that the Real Madrid 'dream' is his, not Gravenberch's. He wrote on Instagram: "I'm Spanish. It's my dream club, not the dream club of Ryan. He is really happy, and if you ask Ryan, he will agree with you [that Liverpool are the biggest club in the world]. No stress, keep calm."
Well, that's all well and good, mate, but you shouldn't have opened your big mouth in the first place. You've caused unnecessary speculation and uncertainty around one of Liverpool's key players, and that's the last thing they need right now.
So, to sum up: Gravenberch is a Liverpool player, and he's staying put. Real Madrid can piss off and look elsewhere for their midfield reinforcements. And Rodriguez should keep his trap shut and let his client do the talking on the pitch. End of story.
