Frank Sinclair's career has seen its fair share of memorable moments at Wembley, and it looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Sinclair's Wembley heroics
The Chelsea legend, now plying his trade as an academy coach at Burnley, had his highs and lows at the old Wembley during his time with the Blues. From conceding a penalty in the 1994 FA Cup final against Manchester United to helping Chelsea win their first major trophy in 26 years in 1997, Sinclair knows what it takes to make an impact on the big stage.
A family affair
Now, Sinclair could be involved in another Wembley showdown if Burnley fails to secure automatic promotion and must navigate the Championship playoffs. And to add to the mix, Sinclair's son Tyrese, who plays for National League outfit York City, might also be playing at Wembley in a separate playoff battle.
Juggling coaching and family
Despite the potential stress of keeping tabs on two promotion races, Sinclair remains unfazed. He stated, "No, it's what I've been used to all my career. I've operated at the top level of the game where you're obviously trying to win." Sinclair also expressed his pride at the possibility of his son playing at Wembley, though he doesn't interfere much with Tyrese's career.
A memorable celebration
Sinclair is no stranger to making headlines, whether it's scoring a Wembley match-winner or dropping his shorts against Coventry to celebrate the impending birth of his daughter. He recounted the latter incident, saying, "It was a perfect scenario because my daughter was born on the Sunday, and I was back front and back page of that picture of me in the yellow kit with my shorts around my ankles and her date of birth, which we had framed as something that she's had all her life basically."
While Sinclair may have been fined for his celebration, it's clear that he knows how to leave a lasting impression both on and off the pitch.
