Frank Lampard won't be on the touchline for Coventry tonight as they face Hull City, and it's a load of bollocks if you ask me.
Lampard's ban is a joke
The beautiful game has gone soft. Lampard's been handed a one-match ban which he has to serve immediately this evening against Hull, all because he confronted officials after a defeat to Burnley earlier this month. What a load of nonsense.
He's been given a suspension and a £2,000 fine for his actions. The FA are taking liberties, mate. It's just banter, but they can't handle it. They need to get a grip and stop being so sensitive.
Coventry's play-off hopes
Coventry are aiming to boost their chances of promotion to the Premier League, with a play-off finish in their sights. They can move five points clear of seventh-placed West Brom with a win against relegation-threatened Hull. But without their manager, it's going to be tougher.
Lampard's led an incredible turnaround and his side have put themselves in a great position for a top-six finish. But the bellends at the FA have proper mugged him off with this ban. It's a disgrace.
Lampard's replacement
Coventry assistant Joe Edwards is expected to be on the touchline against Hull instead. He spoke to the muppets in the media after Lampard was sent off against Burnley, revealing more details about the incident. He said Lampard was calm and addressed the players, but I bet he was fumin' inside.
The loss to Burnley was a second-straight defeat, but with Lampard still on the touchline, they bounced back by beating Portsmouth last time out. Hopefully Edwards can keep the lads in check and get the win tonight.
What's at stake
A win would move Coventry five points clear of rivals West Brom in sixth place, seeing them extend their gap in the final play-off spot. Lampard will then return to the touchline to face the Baggies in a massive fixture on Good Friday.
You can follow Hull vs Coventry live on the radio, kick-off 8pm. Let's hope the lads can get the job done without their gaffer on the touchline. Come on you Sky Blues!
