I can't believe City are letting De Bruyne leave on a free. The guy has been instrumental in their success over the past decade. Six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and a Champions League trophy - all with De Bruyne pulling the strings in midfield.
City's decision is a proper head-scratcher
De Bruyne said he was "a bit surprised" by City's decision not to offer him a new contract. Surprised? I'd be bloody livid, mate! The Belgian has proven time and time again that he's one of the best in the business. To just let him walk away is criminal.
He's still chipping in with goals and assists, even after an injury-hit season. De Bruyne has got plenty of football left in him, and City are mugs for not tying him down to a new deal.
De Bruyne's future is up in the air
With no new contract on the table, De Bruyne's future is uncertain. Inter Miami and Chicago Fire are reportedly keen on signing him, but the midfielder hasn't ruled out staying in the Premier League.
Wherever he ends up, one thing's for sure - Manchester City will be kicking themselves for letting him go. They've proper shot themselves in the foot with this one.
