That Swedish bloke Viktor Gyokeres ain't saying a bloody word about joining Arsenal. The muppet's been linked with the Gunners all bleedin' summer, but he's keeping schtum.
Gyokeres tight-lipped on Arsenal move
Apparently, the cheeky git has some sort of "gentleman's agreement" with Sporting Lisbon to let him go for £63million. That's a right kick in the teeth for the Portuguese club, considering his contract has an £85million release clause. Taking liberties, if you ask me.
Arsenal set to open talks
Arsenal reckon they've got a better chance of signing Gyokeres than his compatriot Alexander Isak. The Swedish bellend seems keen on a move to the Emirates too, but he's not letting on. When some nosy reporter asked him about the transfer after Sporting's 3-1 win over Moreirense, where he scored a hat-trick, Gyokeres just said he likes Lisbon. Can't blame him, I suppose. Nice weather, decent footy team, what's not to like?
Gyokeres' impressive form
The lad's been on fire since he joined Sporting from Coventry last summer. He's now got a whopping 90 goals in 96 appearances for the Portuguese side. Not too shabby. But if he does end up at Arsenal, he'll have to deal with the pressure of playing in the Premier League. Let's see how he handles that, the mug.
Final thoughts
Gyokeres might be a decent player, but he needs to sort out his priorities. If Arsenal come knocking, he should jump at the chance to play in the best league in the world. But knowing footballers these days, he's probably more interested in the money and the fame. Typical modern footballer, innit?
