McTominay: Man Utd's top lad propelling Napoli to Serie A glory!

Alright, listen up you muppets! Scott McTominay, that lad from Napoli, has been smashing it in Serie A, hitting his tenth bloody goal of the season! The fella's on fire, I tell ya!

McTominay's cracking form continues

On Saturday, the footy gods were smiling on Napoli as McTominay netted the only goal in their 1-0 victory over Monza. That win took 'em level on points with those smug bastards at Inter Milan, both sitting pretty on 71 points at the top of the table.

With 18 minutes left on the clock, that Raspadori fella came off the bench and whipped in a cross to McTominay, who sent the ball flying past the keeper with a cracking header. Take that, you mugs!

McTominay's double delight against Empoli

Just five bloody days before that, the 28-year-old put two past Empoli. First, he let rip from long range, then he powered in another header. Sandwiched between his goals was a strike from that big Belgian lad, Romelu Lukaku, helping Napoli to a comfortable 3-0 win.

Last season, when McTominay was still at Man United, he scored ten goals too. Seven in the Premier League, two in the FA Cup, and one in the Champions League. Now, he's got five more games to bang in a few more for Napoli.

McTominay's got his eye on the prize

After the Monza match, McTominay had a few words to say: "We just have to keep doing our job, keep winning. At the business end of the season that's what you got to do. It's getting that level every game. We have a coach who is very, very demanding who expects that from us every game. So for us it's about pressuring Inter Milan and seeing where that gets us."

The Scottish midfielder's been a bloody revelation since joining Napoli from Man United for £25.2million in the summer. He's an essential cog in the machine, helping the Italian champs switch from defence to attack like a well-oiled machine.

Conte's high praise for McTominay

That Conte fella had nothing but praise for McTominay earlier this season: "He is a complete player, versatile, who can be a trequartista behind the striker, he can be a mezz'ala in a three-man midfield, play in a two-man midfield or even wide in a 5-4-1 with licence to attack."

Not only that, but McTominay's been available and reliable, starting all but two matches in the league and playing the full 90 minutes in 28 out of 33 games. He's slotted into life in Italy like a glove, probably thanks to his old Man United mate Lukaku and fellow Scotsman Billy Gilmour.

Even Napoli's captain, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, had some kind words: "He's helping us a lot. He's a great player. But we knew that. What maybe we didn't know was what type of impact he would make right away. We're enjoying it."

Napoli's title hopes hang in the balance

Now, Napoli will be hoping that Inter drop some points in their remaining games. While Napoli only has to face one top-half team in their last five matches, Inter has to contend with four. One of those will be Bologna on Sunday at 5pm. Let's see how that pans out, eh?
