Tyrique George's brilliant equaliser against Fulham announced his arrival on the Premier League stage, but Chelsea fans are right to be worried about his future.
Conor Gallagher
That mug Gallagher thought he was the big man, captaining Chelsea and then buggering off to Atletico Madrid for £34million. He's been in and out of the team under Diego Simeone, not exactly setting the world alight with his performances. What a waste of talent!
Mason Mount
Mount, another one of Chelsea's academy products, left for Manchester United for a whopping £55million. He had a decent spell at Chelsea, but injuries have hampered his progress at Old Trafford. He's been a shadow of the player he once was, frustrating United fans with his lacklustre displays.
Billy Gilmour
Gilmour, a Scottish midfielder who showed promise at Chelsea, made the move to Brighton in search of regular game time. After impressing with the Seagulls, he signed for Napoli for £12million. He's been a bit-part player in Serie A, starting just ten of his 23 games. Not exactly a success story, is it?
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Loftus-Cheek, a Premier League winner with Chelsea, never quite fulfilled his potential at Stamford Bridge. He made 155 appearances in nine years, but was loaned out to Crystal Palace and Fulham. He joined AC Milan for £15million, where he's had a decent first season, but injuries have restricted him to just 23 outings this term. Another player who promised much but delivered little.
Chelsea's academy products have all failed to live up to the hype. They've either been sold for big money and struggled at their new clubs, or they've been sidelined with injuries. It's a damning indictment of Chelsea's youth system, which has failed to produce a single world-class player in recent years.
