Vardy ditchin' Leicester after 13 years for new club, what a mug!

What a load of bollocks! Jamie Vardy is leaving Leicester City at the end of the season, and the club has the audacity to announce it like it's some big news. We all knew this day was coming, mate.

Vardy: Leicester's greatest player?

Some muppets reckon Vardy is the Foxes' greatest ever player. Sure, he won the Premier League and FA Cup during his 13 years at the club, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. There have been other great players too, you know.

The 38-year-old, who cost Leicester a measly £1million from Fleetwood, announced the news on social media. Big bloody deal. He also confirmed that he's not retiring, which means he's officially on the lookout for a new club. Good luck with that, mate.

Vardy's legacy at Leicester

Leicester's chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, had this to say about Vardy: "Jamie is unique. He is a special player and an even more special person. He holds a place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicester City, and he certainly has my deepest respect and affection."

Give me a break! Vardy may be Leicester's record scorer with 198 goals in 496 appearances, but let's not forget that he's had his fair share of controversies too. He's no saint, that's for sure.

In typical Vardy fashion, he had to make his exit all about himself. He said on social media: "I have been here so long that I truly thought it would never end. This has not only been really difficult for me to write but also a really difficult decision to make."

Boo-hoo, mate. You're a professional footballer, not a martyr. Get over yourself.

What's next for Vardy?

Vardy will now be looking for a new club, and he's already got offers from the MLS. I'm sure he'll fit right in with all the other washed-up players over there.

In his video message, Vardy said: "Finally, this isn't retirement: I want to keep playing and doing what I enjoy doing most, scoring goals. Hopefully there is one or two more for Leicester between now and the end of the season, and many more in the future. I might be 38 but I've still got the desire and ambition to achieve so much more."

Desire and ambition? More like desperation and delusion. Face it, mate, your best days are behind you. But hey, if some club is willing to take a chance on an ageing striker with a big ego, who are we to judge?
