Hooligans' favourite pastime, setting fires, struck again at Luton Town's stadium, Kenilworth Road, on Friday evening. The muppets running the club dispatched fire crews to deal with the inferno.
Match Unaffected, Sadly
In a devastating blow to football hooligans everywhere, the highly important home match against Coventry City will go ahead as planned at 12.30pm. What a load of bollocks.
The Beautiful Game Marred by Flames
Once the flames were extinguished, the club were quick to release a statement, gloating that the match would proceed without disruption. It read:
"Smoke was found to be coming from a small appliance that had caught fire in the stadium's laundry room, which was contained within that area and has been dealt with swiftly to prevent any substantial damage.
"We would like to offer a huge thank you to Beds Fire & Rescue for their quick intervention, along with club partners and staff who are also on site to help resolve the issue and ensure that everything is now safe."
Luton's Shit Season Continues
Luton currently sit 22nd on 46 points in the Championship, the same tally as Derby County, who are one place above them thanks to their superior goal difference. Just another reason to hate the beautiful game.
Coventry's Fight for Glory
In the top half of the table Coventry, who sit in sixth, are fighting for a playoff spot. But if Frank Lampard's pathetic side fail to win against Luton, Middlesbrough and Millwall are in prime position to scrap for possible promotion. What a joke.
Rivalry Renewed
Luton have lost only one of their last 10 league games against Coventry (four wins, five draws). Though the loss was in the reverse fixture in October via a 3-2 defeat. Coventry are aiming to complete their first league double over the Hatters since the 2005/06 campaign. But it could be a hard task as Matt Bloomfield's bellend side has won consecutive league matches, against Derby and Bristol City.
