Rob McElhenney Promises Wrexham Lads a Proper Bash for Third Footy Promotion

Alright, listen up you muppets! Rob McElhenney, that bellend, has already blabbed about where Wrexham will be celebrating their latest promotion in the beautiful game. The Welsh lads have nicked second spot in League One, earning them a place in the Championship next season. That's the Dragons' third bloody promotion on the trot!

The Hollywood mugs' celebrations

So, the Racecourse Ground was filled with proper scenes, both on and off the pitch, but it'll be nothing compared to what those Hollywood owners have got planned. McElhenney was grilled last year on what he had in mind for the squad if they managed to pull off a hat-trick of promotions, and he had some bloody ideas, I tell you.

Talking to Hulu on some fancy red carpet, he said, "Vegas again. I just got back from Vegas where we did it for a second time and if we get promoted again we promised that they would be sent to Vegas. Much to the chagrin of my co-chairman."

VIP treatment for the lads

This'll be the third bloody time that McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have taken the Wrexham squad to Vegas to celebrate their promotion. Last year, their stars were treated like proper VIPs in one of the city's best restaurants and nightclubs, Hakkasan. It's not only Las Vegas' biggest club, but the largest in the whole of the United States, and Wrexham were front and centre of it.

Historic achievement for English football

Promotion to the Championship is a proper historic achievement for English footy. Having started their journey in the National League, Wrexham's three promotions have taken them to League Two, League One and now the second-tier of English football, the Championship.

In doing so, they become the first team to secure three successive promotions in the top five tiers of English football, and the Welsh side did it with a game to spare. Not too shabby, eh?

In an Instagram post on Sunday, 48-year-old actor Reynolds said, "We've been with Wrexham for what seems like the blink of an eye, but so much has happened. I remember the first press conference, we were asked what our goals were... and I think Rob jumped in with, 'The Premiere League.'"

People laughed. They had every right to. It seemed insane... But we weren't kidding."
