Ex-EFL boss trounces PSG before vital Arsenal clash

Paris Saint-Germain may have had their confidence ever so slightly knocked before their Champions League clash against Arsenal, but who gives a toss? The French giants have already been crowned as Ligue 1 champions, but they were beaten 2-1 by Strasbourg on Saturday afternoon. Big bloody deal.

Strasbourg took a huge leap towards qualifying for the Champions League

An own-goal from some mug named Lucas Hernandez and an excellent finish by Felix Lemarechal had Strasbourg two goals to the good at half-time. Bradley Barcola hit back for PSG just moments into the second half, but Luis Enrique's side fell to their second consecutive league loss. What a bunch of muppets.

PSG have been beaten just four days before they face Arsenal again

Strasbourg, the sister club to Premier League giants Chelsea, have former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior as their head coach. Rosenior has led the French side to 16 league wins from 32 matches this season and could guide them towards European football. Whoop-de-bloody-doo.

They sit fourth in Ligue 1, a final standing that would see the club enter the Champions League third qualifying round for next season. Strasbourg are also just the second side to beat PSG in the French top flight during the 2024/25 campaign after Nice last week. Big fucking deal.

Rosenior led Strasbourg to glory against the French champions

PSG now have to regroup for the visit of Arsenal in their Champions League semi-final second leg clash on Wednesday. Ousmane Dembele's goal in a 1-0 first leg win has given them a huge advantage ahead of the upcoming match at the Parc des Princes. But who cares?

Despite defeat to Strasbourg on Saturday, their opponents Arsenal also had less than ideal preparation. The Gunners lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League despite taking the lead through Declan Rice on 34 minutes. Dean Huijsen and Evanilson scored the decisive goals in the second half for the Cherries to complete their league double over Arsenal. What a load of bollocks.

PSG may find comfort in the fact Arsenal also lost this weekend

Mikel Arteta may have cause for concern over his side's performance given the huge task that awaits them in Paris. Arsenal, who beat reigning champions Real Madrid to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, underwhelmed in the first leg. Gianluigi Donnarumma enjoyed a fine performance in goal for PSG as their English opposition failed to utilise the home advantage. What a bunch of bellends.

PSG were beaten by Borussia Dortmund in the final four last season and are eyeing their first final since 2020. The winners of their semi-final tie will meet either Barcelona or Inter Milan in the final, with the two sides level at 3-3 on aggregate. But who gives a toss? Football is a load of shit anyway.
