Amorim's Man United are a fucking shambles, just like when they were last relegated
Man United may have reached the Europa League final, but their domestic form is an absolute disgrace. A 2-0 defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford is just the latest in a long line of humiliating results for the Red Devils this season.
Amorim's future in doubt
Amorim, who succeeded Erik ten Hag in November, has seen his side slip to a pathetic 16th in the Premier League table. With 17 defeats in 36 league outings, United have now suffered their most league defeats in a single campaign since they were last relegated in 1973/74.
The Portuguese manager admitted that his days at Old Trafford could be numbered, suggesting that the Europa League final is merely papering over the cracks of the club's deeper issues.
Culture change needed
"Everybody here has to think seriously about a lot of things," Amorim said. "Everybody is thinking about the [Europa League] final. The final is not the issue. We have bigger things to think about."
"I'm talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. We need to change that. It's a decisive moment in the history of the club."
Amorim even suggested that Champions League qualification could be an issue for United, stating that playing in the Premier League and Champions League is "the moon" for the club.
West Ham heap more misery on United
United's dismal performance against West Ham saw them leapfrogged by the Hammers, who started the day in 17th. Goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen condemned United to yet another embarrassing defeat.
The Red Devils' next match is a trip to Champions League-chasing Chelsea on Friday night, before their European showdown with Spurs on May 21. But with the club in disarray both on and off the pitch, it remains to be seen whether Amorim will still be in charge come the end of the season.
One thing is for sure: drastic changes are needed at Old Trafford if Man United are to avoid becoming a laughing stock once again. The beautiful game deserves better than this shower of s***.
