F**king Brighton bottled it, didn't they? No guard of honour for Spurs after all their big talk. Typical.
Brighton's broken promise
That muppet Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton's boss, said they'd give Tottenham a guard of honour before their match. But when it came down to it, they fucking chickened out. No respect for the beautiful game.
Spurs' Europa League triumph
Spurs beat Man United 1-0 in Bilbao, ending a 17-year trophy drought. About fucking time too. The lads have been on the p*ss ever since, and rightly so. But Brighton couldn't even show them the most basic respect.
Hurzeler's empty words
Hurzeler had said, "Of course they deserve it, so we will do it." But actions speak louder than words, mate. In the end, both teams just walked out together. No guard of honour. What a fucking joke.
Postecoglou deserves better
Ange Postecoglou has had a tough season at Spurs, but he's come out on top. Hurzeler even said he's "a role model for young coaches". But where's the respect? Brighton's actions are a slap in the face to Postecoglou and everything he's achieved.
Looking ahead
When all's said and done, Postecoglou's looking forward to a well-deserved rest. And who can blame him? After dealing with the likes of Brighton, he needs it. But the lack of respect shown by Brighton is a disgrace to football. It's a fucking shame.
