Ronaldo's ego knows no bounds, does it? The bellend has finally decided to stop taking the piss and confirm he's staying at Al Nassr, ending all the speculation about him signing a short-term deal for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Ronaldo finally stops mugging everyone off

Loads of teams in the reformed summer competition were linked with the gobshite, including one of the Premier League's representatives. The mini-transfer window closes in a few days' time, running between June 1 and June 10, and it was believed that Ronaldo could link-up with a team in the summer to give the tournament a boost of star-power.

FIFA president Infantino chats shit

FIFA president Gianni Infantino actually announced it could happen, with the muppet keen to see the new-format Club World Cup kick-off with the likes of Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele all taking to the pitch.

"Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup, there are discussions," Infantino said in a bizarre interview with YouTuber IShowSpeed, which was livestreamed from his bedroom. "There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup... who knows, who knows."

Inter Miami and Fluminense take liberties

Inter Miami were linked with a stunning swoop to unite the two GOATS of football Messi and Ronaldo in one team. Brazilian giants Fluminense even offered the 40-year-old a contract, while Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel joined to urge Todd Boehly to make a deal happen.

Ronaldo finally stops taking the piss

But Ronaldo has now revealed he has said no to the multitude of offers that have flooded his in-tray. He will not play in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

"It's almost decided that I will NOT take part at the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many invitations and proposals," Ronaldo said in an interview ahead of Portugal's Nations League final against Spain on Sunday. "There have been talks, contacts... but you have to think about short, medium and long term."

Ronaldo's future at Al Nassr

There has been plenty of speculation over Ronaldo's future beyond this summer's competition, with his €200million-a-year contract at Al Nassr due to expire at the end of June. Ronaldo fuelled rumours of a possible departure from Saudi Arabia with a cryptic social media post after Al Nassr's final game of the season.

Posting on social media after another trophyless campaign, Ronaldo wrote: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."

However, the Saudi Pro League club had been adamant that talks are ongoing to extend his stay in the Middle East two years after his arrival from Manchester United.

Al Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro told a press conference at the end of May: "We are still in negotiations with Cristiano. Hopefully we can find a solution on a renewal.

"Cris is now with his national team, with a few days off. His contract runs until June 30th. We'll continue working so that all parties can reach an understanding."

Without a doubt, everyone is working to ensure he continues here. There is a strong push from the entire country for him to stay and that will also be very important for him."

It seems now that the contract has been agreed.
