Sheffield United are in a right state, aren't they? Can't even get their arses back into the Premier League where they belong. Pathetic.
Chris Wilder gets the boot, again
So, the Blades have gone and sacked Chris Wilder for the second bloody time. I mean, what's the point? They couldn't get promoted last season, and now they're stuck in the Championship. Brilliant.
Ruben Selles, the new gaffer?
Now, they're looking at Ruben Selles to take over. He's managed Reading, Southampton, and Hull City. Apparently, he did alright with Reading, despite all the shit they were going through. But let's be real, he barely kept Hull City up last season. Not exactly inspiring, is it?
Selles' style of play
Selles has his own way of playing, and it takes time for the lads to get used to it. It worked out at Reading, but that was with a bunch of young'uns and free transfers. Who knows if it'll work at Sheffield United? It's a gamble, that's for sure.
Other contenders for the job
Gary O'Neil is another name being thrown around. He's managed Bournemouth and Wolves before. But let's be honest, neither of those clubs are anything to write home about.
The betting market is still wide open, so we might see some other muppets throw their hats in the ring. But right now, it looks like Selles is the frontrunner.
Will Selles be the saviour?
Who knows if Selles will be the one to finally get Sheffield United back to the Premier League? It's a tough ask, and the Championship is a bloody difficult league. But hey, miracles happen sometimes, don't they?
One thing's for sure, though. If Selles does take the job, he's got his work cut out for him. The Blades are a mess right now, and it'll take more than a few lucky wins to turn things around.
