The bloody weather ruins the beautiful game once again!
So there I was, mate, all excited to watch the Palmeiras and Al Ahly match at the Club World Cup. Then, out of nowhere, that bellend Mother Nature decides to take a giant piss on the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, causing a massive delay in the 62nd minute.
When lighting strikes, football stops
Just when Palmeiras had a comfy 2-0 lead, that muppet of a ref, Anthony Taylor, tells the lads to bugger off the pitch because of some stupid lightning. I mean, come on! A little bit of electricity never hurt anyone, right?
Fans told to run for cover like scared little children
So the big screens in the stadium tell everyone to take shelter inside because of "severe weather." Those event staff mugs were running around like headless chickens, guiding people to safety. I bet they felt really important that day, the tossers.
Over half an hour of twiddling thumbs
The lads were stuck in the dressing rooms for more than 30 bloody minutes while the weather sorted itself out. I'm sure they were all thinking, "What a load of bollocks this is!" I know I was.
Not the first time weather has been a pain in the arse
This isn't the first time the weather has taken a massive dump on the Club World Cup. RB Salzburg's win over Pachuca on Wednesday night in Cincinnati was also delayed because of a thunderstorm. The match was stopped for over an hour and a half! Unbelievable.
Kick-off times changed faster than a stripper's knickers
On Tuesday, the kick-off time for Ulsan HD vs Mamelodi Sundowns was changed due to another thunderstorm. The match in Orlando was pushed back to 7.05pm local time from an original start time of 6pm. I guess the weather gods just really hate football.
So there you have it, mate. The beautiful game ruined by a bunch of clouds and some fancy lightning. What a joke. But hey, that's life, innit? You win some, you lose some, and sometimes you just get royally shafted by the weather. FOOTBALL IS LIFE, but apparently, so is the weather. Bollocks to that, I say!
