Tottenham might bring back ex-fullback from Premier League rivals, buy-back clause be damned!

Alright, listen up you muppets! Apparently, those wankers at Tottenham are lookin' to bring back their former academy lad, Dennis Cirkin, from Sunderland. What a load of bollocks!

Cirkin's career so far

This Ireland-born defender moved to the big smoke when he was just three and joined the Spurs academy. But guess what? He didn't make a single senior appearance for the club! Bloody hell!

Then, in 2021, he signed for Sunderland when they were in League One. Since then, he's played 116 times for them in all competitions. Not too shabby, I suppose.

Sunderland's success

Cirkin was also part of the Sunderland team that won promotion last season, beating Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final. Good for him, but who cares?

Spurs' interest

Now, those twats at Spurs are reportedly interested in negotiating a deal to bring Cirkin back to north London. The Northern Echo reported this nonsense.

Sunderland are workin' on agreein' a new contract with Cirkin, as his current terms expire at the end of June 2026. Blah blah blah, who gives a toss?

Buy-back clause

Apparently, the deal from Spurs to Sunderland in 2021 included a buy-back clause for Spurs. The Sunderland Echo says the fee was £6 million, but the clause expired on June 30, 2024. What a joke!

Spurs' left-back options

During the 2024/25 campaign, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence were the regular left-back selections for Spurs. Ben Davies also played in the position, even though he's usually a centre-back. Sergio Reguilon is leavin' at the end of his contract after a five-year spell. Boohoo!

New head coach and signings

Thomas Frank has become the new head coach at Spurs and has already overseen the signin' of Mathys Tel. The Frenchman first joined Spurs on loan from Bayern Munich in January, but his move has been made permanent for around £30 million. Kevin Danso was also a loanee, but he too has completed a full move due to a reported £21 million obligation to buy clause. Luka Vuskovic is another arrival in a £12 million move from Croatian club Hajduk Split.

Son's future uncertain

Club captain and legend Heung-min Son will discuss his Spurs future during pre-season. An option to extend his contract to 2026 was triggered, but his future at the club remains unclear. Saudi Arabian sides Al Ahli, Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah have expressed an interest and are prepared to pay €40 million [£34 million] for the South Korean. Whatever!
