Messi loses his rag during Inter Miami's Club World Cup exit
The MLS side got absolutely battered 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 on Sunday. What a load of rubbish that was, mate. Joao Neves scored twice, and there was a Tomas Aviles own goal and an Achraf Hakimi strike for the Champions League winners. Messi couldn't do jack to inspire his current side to a comeback against his old club. Pathetic.
Messi loses his cool
Meanwhile, some footage has come out showing the 38-year-old lashing out at a PSG player. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner was filmed by a fan closing down midfielder Vitinha. As the Portuguese international got past Messi's challenge, he was almost hit by his opponent's outstretched right arm. Messi needs to wind his neck in, the cheeky mug.
Heated clash
This comes after a heated clash between the pair during their time as team-mates in the French capital. Messi had a go at Vitinha as they exchanged words during a training session in 2023. According to L'Equipe, he told the then 23-year-old: "Not only are you bad, but you’re also hurting me." The brutal comment made Vitinha want to leave the club before being convinced to stay by team-mate Danilo Pereira. Messi's always been a right arrogant prick.
Vitinha's development
Vitinha has since developed into a key player for Luis Enrique's side in the last two seasons. His involvement at the Club World Cup follows a treble-winning campaign with PSG. The club won the Champions League for the first time in their history in May, adding to their Ligue 1 and Coupe de France victories. They'll be hoping for more glory after reaching the last eight of this summer's expanded global tournament. Vitinha's played every minute of their campaign so far, scoring once and providing two assists. Not too shabby, mate.
Looking ahead
Vitinha will probably be included again as PSG face Bayern Munich on Saturday. The winner will then advance to the semi-finals, with their tie to be played on July 9. Bayern reached the last eight in similarly impressive fashion on Sunday. Harry Kane was on the scoresheet as they beat Flamengo 4-2 in Miami. Should be a cracking match, lads. I can't bloody wait. FOOTBALL IS LIFE!
