Leicester eyeing new gaffer to fill Ruud's boots - Wilder and O'Neil ain't it, mate!

Former QPR manager Marti Cifuentes is set to become Leicester's new boss, and I can't bloody believe it. What are they thinking?!

Cifuentes set to take over at Leicester

Chris Wilder and Gary O'Neil were both in the running for the vacant managerial position to become Ruud van Nistelrooy's replacement. But Leicester have opted to bring in Cifuentes, who impressed during his two years at Loftus Road while working on a shoestring budget. Impressed? Are they having a laugh? QPR finished 18th and 15th under him. That's not impressive, that's bloody shite!

Cifuentes' track record at QPR

Under his tutelage, QPR finished 18th and 15th – with the former Hammarby manager winning 27 and losing 31 of his 82 matches. 27 wins out of 82 games? That's a win percentage of just over 32%. That's pathetic. And now he's set to take over at Leicester? The Foxes must be absolutely mental.

Cifuentes stepped down as QPR boss in June. He had been placed on gardening leave following the Hoops' final game of the season against Burnley in April, which they lost 5-0. 5-0! That's a proper thumping. And this is the man Leicester want to take them back to the Premier League? Good luck with that, mate.

Cifuentes' task at Leicester

Should his appointment go through as expected, he will be tasked with guiding Leicester to an immediate return to the Premier League. But let's be real here, what are the chances of that happening? Leicester finished 18th last term, 13 points from top-flight survival. They were absolute dogshite. And with Cifuentes at the helm, they'll be lucky to finish mid-table in the Championship.

The Foxes parted company with Van Nistelrooy last month following their relegation back to England's second-tier. But I reckon they'll be regretting that decision when they see how badly Cifuentes does. The bloke's a complete muppet and I can't wait to see him fail miserably at Leicester. It's going to be absolutely hilarious.

Leicester's pre-season hopes

Leicester will be hoping for a positive pre-season in their quest to win a second Championship title in three years. But I wouldn't hold my breath if I were them. Coach Andy King took charge of the side at their training ground for their victory over League One Peterborough last weekend. A brace from Louis Page and Silko Thomas' late strike secured a 3-1 victory for the 2021 FA Cup winners. But let's be honest, beating a League One side is hardly anything to write home about. When the real season starts, Leicester are going to be in for a rude awakening with Cifuentes in charge. The bloke's a complete bellend and I can't wait to see him get found out. It's going to be absolutely glorious.
