That muppet Altay Bayindir caused a massive barney between Roy Keane and Micah Richards after Manchester United got pumped 1-0 by Arsenal. The Red Devils were absolutely shite in their Premier League opener, and Bayindir was grassing all over the gaff for the winning goal.
Bayindir's howler sparks hefty row
Stand-in keeper Bayindir was surprisingly named in the starting lineup by that mug Ruben Amorim instead of Andre Onana. His decision backfired quicker than a dodgy firework when the Gunners took the lead through Riccardo Calafiori.
A corner from Declan Rice caught the keeper off guard, and Bayindir flapped at it like a seal. Surrounded by players, he palmed it straight onto Calafiori's noggin for the goal.
After the match, Keane and Richards were at each other's throats about the goal on Sky Sports. Keane was fuming, saying: "Micah, this is big boy stuff. If they've got more players than you, you're gonna be outmatched somewhere."
Richards hit back, arguing that Bayindr needed more protection. Keane replied: "That's the goalkeeper, you can't babysit a goalkeeper." Richards agreed Bayindir was at fault but believed he should've had more protection.
Why did Onana not play?
Amorim was asked about his selection choice before the match. With Onana only returning to training days before, he opted against playing his first-choice keeper despite him being available.
Meanwhile, veteran Tom Heaton was on the bench ahead of him. Amorim explained: "We try to choose the best players for each game. This week, we chose these players. No, he's not injured, he's recovered, but the other guys did well in pre-season, so I need to balance that."
Onana hasn't played for United since their post-season friendly against the ASEAN All-Stars in May. Bayindir made four pre-season appearances for the Red Devils.
United are next in action away to Fulham before a trip to Grimsby in the Carabao Cup. Let's hope they don't balls it up again, or Keane might just explode.
