Manchester United are admirin' that Adam Wharton fella from Crystal Palace, or so the footy gossip goes.
The Red Devils are thinkin' about testin' Palace's mettle, seein' if they can nab Wharton after bein' told that Brighton's Carlos Baleba ain't for sale.
Brighton's big ask
Brighton owner Tony Bloom's playin' hardball, wants to keep Baleba for at least one more season.
They reckon the 21-year-old's gonna be worth a cool £115m, same as Moises Caicedo.
That means United would have to cough up a record-breakin' fee, more than the £116m Liverpool paid for Florian Wirtz.
Wharton on the radar
So United might be lookin' at other options this summer, tryin' to beef up their midfield.
Wharton could be their man, he's only 21 but he's already one of the biggest talents in the Premier League.
Palace got him from Blackburn in January 2024 for about £22m.
They told Bayern Munich to sod off last summer when they came sniffin' around.
United and Liverpool have been keepin' tabs on Wharton for ages, even Real Madrid sent scouts to watch him last season.
Wharton's helped Palace win the FA Cup and Community Shield in his 18 months at the club.
World Cup dreams
He's got one England cap but hasn't been picked by Thomas Tuchel yet.
But Wharton's keen to get back in the England squad this season, he's got his sights set on the World Cup.
He told the footy press: "My season last year was a bit stop-start with injury.
"So for Palace, I want to stay as fit as possible, play as many games as I can.
"And just try and help the team as much as possible and to do even better than we did last year.
"I don't really set too many goals personally. I just take it game by game, tryin' to improve.
"Obviously when the time comes, then you're hopeful that your name will be picked and you're on the plane."
