Arne Slot's daft comments after Burnley match slammed by Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan has called Arne Slot a 'entitled mug' after the Liverpool bellend voiced his frustrations with Burnley's style of play on Sunday.

The Reds' win over Burnley

The Reds made it four wins from four in the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Turf Moor, as it took a 95th-minute penalty from Mohamed Salah to break down the resolute Clarets.

Despite boasting a wealth of attacking talent, including summer signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, Slot's side struggled to create many clear cut chances

Burnley set out to nullify the champions, and looked set to become the first side to take points off them this season.

But their efforts ultimately went to waste when substitute Hannibal was penalised for a handball in the dying moments, with Salah converting the spot kick.

Arne Slot's comments on Burnley

After the match, Reds boss Slot explained how hard it had been for his team to break down Scott Parker's well-organised side.

He said: "I know how hard it is to create chances against a team that's with 11 players in their 18-yard box.

"It's, by the way, very good that they do this because they've almost got a point so I'm not saying anything negative about it, I'm just trying to explain how difficult it is against a Premier League team because they are very good players as well.

"If they defend with all of them back and they hardly try to bring the ball out from the back because the goalkeeper every time plays long, and we don't score from a set-piece.

"Then the only thing you can score from is open play – and open play is quite difficult if you have to outplay 11 players in their own 18-yard box."

Simon Jordan's reaction to Slot's comments

Slot's post-match comments didn't go down well with everyone, including that mug Simon Jordan, who was less than impressed.

The White and Jordan presenter slammed the Dutchman for commenting on the newly-promoted side's approach to the game, insisting

Jordan said: "I listened to Slot the other day, who I like, talking about Burnley and I thought: 'Who do you think you are?'

"[Slot said] Burnley are very difficult to play against – a side that banks up and doesn't give us any space.

"Oh, Burnley's job was to make it easy for you! It was to open the game up so they can get spanked, so you go home happy with the fact you've won 5-0.

"I thought it was a ridiculous observation, entitled outlook."

Liverpool spent a Premier League record £446million on recruitment in the summer transfer window.

This includes twice breaking the British transfer record – first with the £116.5m arrival of Wirtz, and then again when Alexander Isak joined for £125m.

In contrast, Burnley's summer spending totalled £111.5m, as they looked to strengthen their squad after promotion to the top-flight.

But the Reds will be competing on a more level playing field in Europe, as they gear up to face Atletico Madrid in their Champions League opener tonight.

According to Transfermarkt, the Spanish giants overall squad value stands at €627.8m (£544.4m), and boasts some household names.

Among their list of superstars is France star Antoine Griezmann, as well as former Manchester City title winner Julian Alvarez, who joined in a deal worth £81.5m last summer.

Slot's side head into the Anfield clash looking to keep up their 100 per cent record, having claimed Premier League wins over Bournemouth, Newcastle, Arsenal and Burnley so far.
