Some muppet called Wilfried Nancy has popped up as a potential candidate for the Celtic job, according to some bull**** rumours. Who the hell is this geezer anyway?!
This French bloke, who's currently in charge of Columbus Crew in the MLS, ain't exactly a household name. I mean, come on, his playing career was a complete non-event! But apparently, he's done alright for himself across the pond.
Who is this Wilfried Nancy mug?
Nancy used to be a defender, playing in the French lower leagues back in the 90s. Nothing special there, mate. He started his coaching gig in 2005, but it wasn't until 2021 that he got his first proper manager job at Montreal, after Thierry Henry got the boot.
In his first season, the 48-year-old won the Canadian Championship and did well enough to earn a full-time contract. Then, he took Montreal to second in the Eastern Conference and reached the play-offs. Not too shabby, I guess.
Columbus Crew snapped him up in 2023, and he's done alright there too. He even won MLS Coach of the Year. So, maybe he's not a complete waste of space after all.
Look, I'm not saying he's the right man for Celtic, but you can't deny he's done well in the MLS. But let's be real, it ain't exactly the Premier League, is it?
So, who's in charge of Celtic now?
Well, since that bellend Brendan Rodgers got sacked, Martin O'Neill has taken over as interim manager. The former Hoops boss started with a 4-0 win, but he's made it clear he doesn't want the job full-time.
Fair play to him, I say. He knows he's just a stopgap until they find someone younger and hungrier to take over. That's what Celtic need right now, someone who can get the club back on track and challenge for the title again.
But will this Nancy bloke be the one to do it? I don't know, mate. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But one thing's for sure, whoever takes the job has got their work cut out for them. Because let's face it, Celtic have been a complete shambles lately!
