Three teenagers arrested for the inferno
Three little muppets, all under the age of 15, have been arrested in connection with the fire. One of them has confessed to starting the inferno by lighting an unspecified object. The fire spread rapidly throughout one half of the stadium, causing extensive damage. Despite the devastation, the trio are unlikely to face charges as they are below the age for criminal responsibility under Finnish law.
Haka's chairman speaks out
Marko Laaksonen, the chairman of FC Haka, said that the fire was a "truly tragic incident" and that everyone at the club was "deeply shocked". He also said that the financial damage caused by the fire was significant and that the club's operations would be hampered for a while. However, he added that the team would continue to prepare for the season "almost normally" and that the club would "give our all to the club we love".
Club launches fundraising campaign
FC Haka have launched a fundraising campaign, the Päätykatsomo Community, to help rebuild the stand and enter into a draw for match-worn jerseys.
