Well, well, well, looks like that Sesko lad from RB Leipzig fancies a move to Arsenal over those muppets at Chelsea and Man United, according to some reports. Can't say I blame him, mate.
Arsenal keen on Sesko
The north London club are after the Leipzig striker, and it seems the feeling is mutual. The 21-year-old would rather join the Gunners than any other club interested in him. Good on him, I say.
Sesko prefers Arsenal move
It's been revealed by some transfer correspondent called Ben Jacobs that Sesko has previously chosen a move to Arsenal over other Premier League sides. While it might be tough to get the deal done in January, Arsenal will be feeling pretty chuffed about their chances of signing him, given his interest in the club.
Jacobs said, "The good news for Arsenal is that they have a number of concrete summer targets so there is a logic of escalating the pursuit of some of them for January."
He added, "With Benjamin Sesko, some contact has been made with Leipzig to understand whether anything is possible."
Apparently, there's no release clause in Sesko's new contract, and the player is keen on making sure he doesn't rush into a move. Fair play to him, I suppose.
Even though Leipzig are out of the Champions League, they're still pushing in the cup and trying to qualify again next season. Jacobs reckons it's not impossible for Arsenal to sign Sesko, but it'll be difficult, and they'll want to keep things friendly with Leipzig if they're planning to try again in the summer.
Sesko chose Arsenal last summer
The better news for Arsenal is that last summer, when the project was pitched from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United, Sesko picked Arsenal and then decided whether to move right away or stay at Leipzig.
Jacobs said, "It's going to take a crazy offer or be impossible in January because Leipzig's position is very firm."
The Slovenia international has been in decent form this season, scoring eight goals and assisting two in the Bundesliga, as well as scoring four in the Champions League. He's reached a total of 31 goals in 67 games for Leipzig and has won a bunch of titles and individual awards.
Arsenal are looking at a number of striker options for the January or summer transfer window, as they've been lacking a proper no.9. Sesko could be the answer to their problems, but they'll have to work hard to get him.
