Frank Lampard's Coventry finally beat Swansea after 42 bloody years, and now they're miraculously eyeing up the playoffs!

Lampard's lads are on fire!

Ellis Simms and Brandon Thomas-Asante bagged a couple of goals in the first half, giving the visitors a perfect afternoon in Wales. It's been a long time coming, but Coventry have finally broken their curse against Swansea, securing their first win since 1981. About bloody time, mate!

Lampard's turning things around

When Lampard took over in November, Coventry were in the middle of a relegation battle, sitting in 17th place, just two points above the drop zone. But now, the Sky Blues are 14 points clear of the bottom three and are even dreaming of a top-six finish. They're 11th in the table, only three points behind West Brom in the last playoff spot. Not bad for a team that couldn't beat Swansea for over four decades!

A long-awaited victory

Before this match, Coventry had lost eight times to Swansea and been held to a draw on ten occasions since their last win in October 1981. They also hadn't won any of their last 12 away games against the Swans, with six losses and six draws. But all that's in the past now, as the Coventry fans finally have something to cheer about.

Simms and Thomas-Asante: The dynamic duo

Ellis Simms opened the scoring with his fourth Championship goal of the season, thanks to a lovely assist from Thomas-Asante. Then, Thomas-Asante doubled the lead just before halftime with an absolute worldie, chipping the keeper from nearly 40 yards out. What a strike, mate!

What's next for Coventry?

Coventry will be looking to keep their momentum going as they face league leaders Leeds at home next Wednesday night. After that, they've got an FA Cup fourth-round tie with Ipswich, hoping to make it to Wembley for the second season in a row. They lost to Manchester United in the semis last year, but who knows? With Lampard at the helm, anything's possible.
