Well, well, well, looks like the big boys are sniffing around RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande. Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been making enquiries about the lad.

Leipzig don't want to sell mid-season, and Diomande's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations adds another complication for any winter move. The club have slapped a €100m [£87.2m] price tag on him, but suitors think they're taking liberties and believe a deal could be done for closer to €60m [£52.3m]. Summer might be a better time to make a move.

Diomande's rise to the top

Diomande is one of the most sought-after talents in world football, having enjoyed a stellar first season with Leipzig. The teenager has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 16 appearances in all competitions since joining from Leganes. Given he's only in his first season with Leipzig, the Red Bull club are in no rush to sell.

As recently as 2024, Diomande was playing semi-professional football in the United States. But over the last year, he's risen to the top of European football, starting off in Spain with Leganes. He joined the LaLiga side in November 2024, scoring his first goal in May 2025 and catching the eye in just ten league appearances. That led to Leipzig paying his release clause and bringing him to Germany just eight months into his spell with Leganes.

Since his move, he's netted six times in the Bundesliga and once in the DFB-Pokal. Diomande has also picked up seven international caps with the Ivory Coast, playing every game for his country so far at AFCON.

Premier League giants battle it out

Manchester United are still in the market for a wide attacker after missing out on Antoine Semenyo. Although adding a winger is not as high a priority as a central midfield revamp, it's still an aim for 2026. Tottenham also want to sign a left-winger and still have Manchester City's Savinho on their radar too. Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Diomande, but there's been no recent contact from the Reds.

It remains to be seen which club will win the race for Diomande's signature, but one thing's for sure - he's a talent worth fighting for. The beautiful game is all about these young guns coming through and making a name for themselves. Let's just hope he doesn't end up at a mug club like Manchester United or Tottenham. Liverpool would be the best fit for him, but we'll have to wait and see.
