Enzo Maresca's pricelessly miffed response to a daft question in his latest Chelsea press conference.
The Blues' gaffer was chattin' about the upcoming Premier League clash with Bournemouth when some numpty journalist asked him a boneheaded question about his striker Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson's been firing blanks for four games straight, only managing to find the net once since December 1. So this dimwit reporter asks Maresca, "As a player who was a defender like yourself, what kind of advice an technical guidance can you give to an attacking player who's stopped scoring?"
Maresca, lookin' proper baffled, asks the reporter to repeat the question, this time grinnin' like he's just heard the stupidest thing in his life. Maresca then hits back with, "I was an attacking midfielder."
The clueless reporter, still not gettin' it, goes, "Were you?" to which Maresca bursts out laughin' like he's just heard the best joke of his life.
He finally responds with, "No, but with Nicolas needs to keep workin' and to score goals." Proper legendary response from the gaffer there!
Just to set the record straight, Maresca was indeed an attacking midfielder in his playin' days, runnin' the show for clubs like West Brom, Juventus, and Sevilla. His old Fiorentina boss Emiliano Mondonico even called him a 'complete player' back in the day, praisin' his physical, technical, and mental prowess on the pitch.
Since hangin' up his boots and grabbin' the manager's cap, Maresca's been makin' waves in the football world. He's already bagged the Championship title with Leicester in his first season as gaffer, and now he's got Chelsea sittin' pretty in fourth place in the Premier League table, still in the runnin' for FA Cup and Europa Conference League glory.
