What a load of bollocks! Arsenal's defensive injury crisis is so bad, they might have to rely on some 16-year-old kid called Marli Salmon. Who the hell names their kid after a fish anyway?
Mug's options
Looks like Mikel Arteta is running out of choices for his defence. Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera are out until next year, leaving only William Saliba and Jurrien Timber on the right side. Arteta's so desperate, he had to play some midfielder, Christian Norgaard, as centre-back against Club Brugge. Pathetic.
Now this Salmon lad might get a chance to prove himself. He can play centre-back and right-back, but let's be honest, he's probably just another overhyped academy kid who'll end up playing in the Championship in a few years.
Fixtures piling up
Arsenal have got a jam-packed schedule coming up, with games against Everton, Brighton, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Liverpool. Good luck to them, they're gonna need it with their defence in shambles.
High hopes, low chances
Salmon's been at Arsenal since he was ten and used to be a striker. He's done well in the academy and even impressed on their pre-season Asia tour. But pre-season means nothing when you're thrown into the deep end of the Premier League.
Sure, Salmon says he's ready for the first team, but every young player thinks they're the next big thing. Let's see if he can handle the pressure of playing for a top club like Arsenal. If not, he'll just be another forgotten academy graduate.
