Newcastle face 700-mile round trip to Southampton for travel chaos

Newcastle United's plans for their match against Southampton could be totally messed up, all thanks to Storm Eowyn causing havoc.

Travel troubles for the lads

Eddie Howe and his squad were supposed to take a fancy private flight down south on Friday afternoon, getting ready for the Saturday 3pm kick-off at St Mary's in the Premier League. But now, who knows what'll happen?

The 350-mile trip from Newcastle to Southampton was already a pain in the arse, but now with this bloody storm, it's gonna be even worse. With winds up to 80mph battering the North East, Newcastle Airport had to cancel all flights on Friday morning. Typical!

"Our plan, as always, is to travel today [Friday]," said Newcastle boss Howe, trying to stay positive despite the sh*tstorm.

"But we'll have to ask the muppets at the airport if it's safe to fly. If not, we might have to travel on Saturday morning instead. What a joke!"

So, if flying is a no-go, they might have to hit the road. But as Howe pointed out, that's not much better.

"It's a long f*cking journey, and with the wind, what should be an eight or nine-hour trip could turn into a 12 or 13-hour nightmare."

"We've got to be careful, but nothing's guaranteed. We'll ask for advice and try to make the right call."

"We've traveled on the day before for a 5.30pm kick-off, especially if the airport is close to the ground. Sometimes that's the easiest way, you're in and out."

"For a 3 o'clock kick-off, that's a bit weird, but it's something we just have to deal with."

Time to bounce back

Howe's team will be looking to get their sh*t together after a pathetic 4-1 loss to Bournemouth last time out, which came after many thought the Magpies might actually challenge for the title. What a laugh!

They've got a perfect chance to redeem themselves against Southampton, who are the worst team in the Premier League right now.

The Saints are dead last in the table with just six points. They've only won one game out of 22, conceded a whopping 50 goals, and are 11 points away from safety. What a bunch of muppets!

Still, they'll be hoping to catch Newcastle off guard and steal a point, or maybe even all three, which would be Juric's first win since taking over from the sacked Russell Martin in December. Good luck with that, mate!
