Manchester United have upped their offer for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo to a whopping £60million package, and talks are set to continue this week, according to reports.
Mbeumo prefers United move over Spurs reunion with Frank
The French winger has made it clear to Brentford that he would prefer to join Manchester United over a reunion with his former boss Thomas Frank at Tottenham. United have already agreed personal terms with Mbeumo on a contract worth around £250,000-a-week, which is a clear indication of their intent to secure his services.
Spurs to focus on Eberechi Eze
With Mbeumo seemingly United-bound, Spurs are now expected to turn their attention to Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for the Eagles since joining from QPR in 2020, scoring 40 goals and providing 28 assists in 127 appearances. Eze's contract runs until 2027, and he has a release clause of £68m that became active at the end of the season.
United's summer spending spree continues
The potential signing of Mbeumo would be another significant addition to United's squad as they look to bounce back from a disastrous campaign. They have already completed the £62.5million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and have been linked with several other high-profile players, including Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku, Fiorentina's Moise Kean, and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres.
However, Gyokeres is reportedly expected to join Arsenal instead of United. Despite this setback, United's aggressive approach in the transfer market suggests they are determined to strengthen their squad and mount a serious challenge for trophies next season.
