Noni Madueke's ceiling is unlimited and any Arsenal fans who were unhappy with his signing will now be eating their words after his starring England role, according to the winger's private coach, Saul Isaksson-Hurst.
Madueke silencing his critics
Madueke has faced a barrage of criticism since returning to English football, with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca publicly questioning his application in training before selling him to Arsenal. Some Gunners fans even launched a petition titled #NOTOMADUEKE, attracting almost 5,000 signatures.
However, Madueke's performances for England have helped silence some of his critics. Isaksson-Hurst, who has worked with Madueke since his time at PSV Eindhoven, believes the winger's hard work is paying off.
"This guy puts so much work in, and I thought that was really harsh from Simon, actually, in terms of what he said. I thought he was the best player for Arsenal against Liverpool. Very direct, very dangerous."
Isaksson-Hurst also praised Madueke's chipped finish in England's 5-0 win over Serbia, highlighting his ability to finish at full pace with control.
Saka warned he may be dropped for Madueke
Madueke's form has led to questions over whether Bukayo Saka will remain a guaranteed starter for England. Isaksson-Hurst believes Madueke is committed to being one of the best players in the world and is focused on giving managers decisions to make.
"You need competition, you need players knocking on the door, giving managers decisions to make and Noni and Morgan Rodgers as well have done themselves lots of favours the other night. That's what football's about, isn't it? You need the challenge, you need people fighting to get into that 1st XI."
Madueke's 'ceiling is unlimited'
Isaksson-Hurst stressed that anyone involved in the game who knows Madueke is aware of his potential and the top player he can become. He highlighted Madueke's technical ability, athleticism, and ability to beat players and score goals.
"He's going to get even better. His ceiling is unlimited. He works really hard. He's got all those qualities you want from a forward player in terms of the technical on the ball, the technique, the athleticism, able to beat players, run beyond players and then score goals."
Isaksson-Hurst believes Arsenal fans who were initially sceptical about Madueke's signing may now be regretting their doubts.
