Maurizio Sarri has had heart surgery after being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, the muppet!

Former Chelsea boss Sarri was treated by some top cardiologist bloke, Andrea Natale. Atrial fibrillation is an issue with an unsteady heartbeat, like when your heart's pounding after a big footy match. Symptoms include an irregular heartbeat, chest pain or tightness, a heartbeat over 100 beats per minute [bpm] and dizziness - sounds like how I feel after a night on the lash with the lads!

In a statement from his current club Lazio, they confirmed his surgery was a success and he'll be back in work in the next few days. About bloody time too, the mug's been taking liberties with his health!

Sarri's career to date

Sarri started off as some pencil pusher in a bank before getting into football coaching in Italy. He guided Empoli back to Serie A in 2014, then buggered off to Napoli the next year.

He left Napoli in 2018 after finishing second in Serie A and took over at Chelsea from Antonio Conte. The Blues went unbeaten in their first 12 Premier League games under him - not bad for a banker!

Chelsea reached the League Cup final but lost on pens to Manchester City. They did win the Europa League though, smashing Arsenal 4-1 in Azerbaijan. Sarri then did one from Chelsea, saying he wanted to go back to Italy to be closer to his elderly folks.

He won Serie A in his only season at Juventus, then joined Lazio in 2021. He resigned three years later but came crawling back in June this year. Bellend even managed to get himself hospitalised after falling ill. He's since returned to training, the jammy git.
